About

Hi, I’m Marcel. According to my Twitter bio, “I create software and weird music”.

Born and raised in Germany, I have been a professional software engineer for the better part of a decade now, though my passion for programming goes back way earlier than that. I fondly remember spending countless hours devouring the manual of my programmable calculator in high school, trying to figure out how to be as efficient as possible. Eventually, I arrived at a program which, given a random function f(x), would spit out all the derivatives and properties that you could hope for as a kid in maths class, in fractions of a second. Turns out I had a bit less math homework that year because of it.

I love hiking, food and video games. Since graduating college in 2013, I had been employed at various software agencies before dedicating myself towards the freelance route a few years ago. At the moment, my main focus is providing value in the Android development space for TenTen, an IoT startup based in Tokyo. Before then, I had been building consumer-facing applications for exhibitions and cinemas in Germany.

Shoot me a message on Twitter if you’d like to get in touch with me! Feel free to read my stuff or check out my music.
